About Us

Our Mission

Coastal Connections is a Del Norte Department of Health and Human Services youth and young adult resource center funded through the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA).  We serve youth and young adults between the ages of 14 and 25 and provide prevention and early intervention services in addition to referrals for needs that cannot be met directly on site.

“Be a nice human.”

“When you can’t find the sunshine, be the sunshine.”

My name is Chelsea. I grew up in Gasquet, CA. I was a stay at home mom to my two amazing little boys until February 2013 when I started working part time at Del Norte County Mental Health. I stayed there for a year before joining my amazing team for Del Norte County Prevention Programs. When I joined Prevention Programs I started out as a Vocational Assistant, but since then promoted to Health Educator in 2016. I enjoy working closely with the youth in our community and helping them build skills and resiliency in which they’ll use in years to come. I love staying engaged with the community I live in and am raising my kids, giving them the best options available to what this beautiful small town has to offer. I recently merged with Coastal Connections, along with my Prevention Programs team and am excited to see what all the great changes and opportunities this will bring.
